Spend a relaxing day exploring the Etyek wine region, Hungary's closest wine country, on a private day trip from Budapest. Just a short drive from the capital, Etyek is known for its rolling vineyards, charming wine cellars, crisp white wines, excellent sparkling wines, and peaceful rural atmosphere.
On our way to Etyek, we'll pass the iconic Biatorbágy Viaduct, one of Hungary's most famous railway bridges. Along the way, you'll hear the remarkable story behind the bridge, which was blown up in 1931 and has since become an important historical landmark.
Continuing to Etyek, we'll visit one of my favorite local wineries for a guided tasting of five regional wines accompanied by local goat cheeses, artisan cured meats, fresh bread, and traditional Hungarian pogácsa.
