Meet Your Guide

My name is Zsuzsanna Szurovcev, but don't worry — even in Hungary, very few people pronounce it correctly. So just call me Suzy, like everyone else does.

Guiding has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I grew up in Budapest in a family of tour guides and led my very first group at the age of 14.

More than 25 years later, I still feel just as excited to welcome visitors to my hometown and share the places, stories, and experiences that make Hungary so special.

Growing up bilingual in Hungarian and Russian sparked a lifelong passion for languages and cultures. I later earned Master's degrees in German and Swedish Philology, and today I guide in six languages. Every tour is tailored to my guests' interests, whether that's history, architecture, gastronomy, everyday life, or simply discovering Budapest through the eyes of a local.

Over the years, I've also worked as a professional trip designer, creating custom itineraries across Europe. I still enjoy helping people turn travel ideas into unforgettable journeys.

When I'm not showing guests around Budapest, you'll usually find me on a bicycle or on a mountain. I'm an avid cyclist, an even more passionate skier, and during the winter I teach skiing and guide guests in St. Moritz, Switzerland. I'm also proud to be the only Hungarian woman to hold the highest Austrian ski instructor qualification.

One more thing: I'm a huge dog lover. If you're travelling with your four-legged friend, they're more than welcome to join me on my tours.

Whether we're exploring Budapest's historic streets, cycling through the Hungarian countryside, or planning your next adventure, I hope you'll leave with a deeper understanding of the places you've visited — and memories that stay with you long after your journey ends.
